In the reed beds on both sides of the riverbank, figures of the Jellyfish People began to bustle. They fished and harvested, returning home in succession to the deep recesses of the Reed Marsh. Upon seeing the mortal merchant fleet that Komer and his party were aboard, although many were extremely surprised and curious, it was evident they had been notified. They did not show much affection for this intruding mortal merchant fleet within their territory. Nonetheless, the originally hostile sentiment seemed to have softened considerably, hinting to Komer the dawn of a new era.

"Sir Baron, these Jellyfish People are simply the natural masters of these waters, just as the Shark people are the born rulers of the Mediterranean. No nation can wrest this power from their hands. Your gaining their support would assure that your name is forever etched in the History Books of the Continent. My admiration for you is beyond words," Hayreddin said earnestly, filling Komer with a warm feeling.

"Hayreddin, this is only our first step. The Jellyfish People will eventually realize that no race can exist independently of this world unless they wish for their extinction. Among the Jellyfish People, there are also sages who understand this truth. The Continent is a world where the fittest survive and the unfit perish, just like a boat sailing against the current that must progress or be swept downstream. If a race is incapable of adapting to the changes of the world, then its only fate is extinction. In fact, resolving the so-called curse of the Water God that plagues the Jellyfish People is not such a difficult issue.
