Chapter 439: Volume 9: Phantom of the Ancient Castle, - 5: Rebirth Part 2
If it hadn’t been for the brilliant performance of this captive Light Mage against the One-spiked Flying Dragon, it would be quite uncertain whether this adventure group could have made it through that challenge unscathed.
Fortunately, the gains they had made were not insignificant, especially the large number of books related to magic acquired from the two bookcases, which Komer and the other Mages were eager to return to the surface to peruse at leisure and digest the fruits of their adventure.
The disposal of the Light Mage ultimately fell into Komer’s hands; after all, it was he who was the true master of this land. And Komer’s promise to the Magicians, that he would erase all of the Light Mage’s memories and train her to become a true believer of Hades, the Lord of the Underworld, was something they all looked forward to. This sounded like an exceptionally challenging task—one that neither Rebry nor Mihailovich had the confidence to undertake—but the young lord seemed full of it.
The adventure’s rich bounty surprised everyone, especially Puber and Ilot. Neither of them could have imagined that the haul from this adventure would be so significant. Though the treasures temporarily borrowed by the Magicians and Dark Knights caused Puber significant pain, he consoled himself with the thought that these Magicians would stay in the Caucasus for a long time, even possibly attracting more of their kind to reside there. In view of this, the trade seemed quite fair.
What gnawed at Ilot was the equipment obtained by the two Dark Knights. Fortuitously, the treasure trove included more than just a Dark Sword forged from Ghostly Sand and an Anti-magic Armor. A Secret Devil Spear with considerable history, crafted by the Dwarves of the Sayan Mountains region in the South, was something Ilot could not put down.
This Secret Devil Spear was made from Devil’s Iron Ore that is unique to the Sayan Mountains region in the South, smelted into refined iron.
Although Devil’s Iron Ore is not Magic Metal, it possesses characteristics similar to certain Magic Metals. Weapons made from the refined iron it produces can effectively combine with the user’s innate Fighting Qi attributes, enabling the Fighting Qi to be utilized to its fullest extent.
Although it may not enhance the power of Fighting Qi as many imagine, even a slight improvement can sometimes be the decisive factor that determines the outcome of a battle. Therefore, weapons forged from the iron ore of this region have always been favored by many Knights and Warriors.
