Amberser replied coldly, "You seem to have quite the camaraderie."
Indeed, Avernus had been invaded from five different locations, and the enemy’s forces were formidable, rampaging through and destabilizing the fabric of Hell’s spatial stability.
Hircine felt he had the upper hand and continued smugly, "Your biggest mistake was recklessly using your divine power, knowing full well my example, yet you still acted willfully. But that’s not surprising. A mortal suddenly elevated to divinity without any trials is naturally prone to losing himself in his pride.
"Now, you still have a chance. Submit to me, surrender your demonic body to those Abyss Lords. Once they devour your flesh, they will leave contentedly, at least, it would let those around you live."
Amberser spoke unhurriedly, "I am not like you, Hircine."
Hircine did not see the panicked expression on Amberser’s face that he expected, which felt slightly off.
