And if the Rose Spider Queen hadn’t been concerned about her alliance with a group of decidedly vile characters, the God of Alchemy would have had to continue his desperate flight.

Therefore, the God of Alchemy was very apprehensive about Amberser ascending to godhood so casually.

Merging with divine positions that are not suited to him would result in eternal weakness, becoming one of those gods often slain by mortals in stories. Half the reason the God of Alchemy relinquished the merging of divine positions was because they were ill-suited for him.

For example, merging with the divine positions of corruption, darkness, and spiders might have turned alchemy into a technique that could only harm others, preventing the God of Alchemy from ever regaining his former power.

Harmful things will never be as popular as those used in daily life.

The only somewhat useful position was that of the Drow Race, and by merging with it, he could become the primary deity of all Drow Elves. His power would recover much faster without any side effects, and at most, there would be a higher chance of alchemists emerging among the Drow Elves.

But this would transform the God of Alchemy from a conceptual god to a god of worship. While there is no hierarchy between the two, becoming a god of worship would mean being influenced by his followers, which contradicts the path the God of Alchemy pursues.

Moreover, this is the most valuable among the four divine positions.
