I Became an Ant Lord, So I Built a Hive Full of Beauties

Chapter 239: Preparation Report!

---

Kai paused, hand still on the side of the Alkaidon’s neck. He grinned faintly. "I was thinking about how we’ll get along. How can I take care of your gift? How much food I need to feed, that kind of stuff." He changed the topic. He can’t tell her that he was talking to his system.

"Don’t worry, Allaidon will hunt for itself. It will take care of the food." The voice replied.

In the mist, the crab did not retreat with offense. Instead, it stepped back slowly, claws lowering as if in formal salute. Its eyes met Kai’s once, then turned away, vanishing back into the deep as fog swallowed its bulk.

"I thank you," the voice said. "One day, when you return, it may still be here. If not... then you will have to earn a new arm for your upcoming challenges."

Kai nodded. "I’ll earn it. Or make it."

The mists pulsed again. The luminous woman began to fade, the glow softening to pale memory. Her voice returned, more distant this time, as though being drawn backward by the tide.

"Remember this, Kai. I do not ask for servitude. I ask only for survival. The chains feed on my strength. But if you live long enough... if you grow, if you rise... then the chain may be broken. And what lies beyond it/me may yet be free. The chain and your fate are bound by the world."

Kai opened his mouth, but no words came. The gravity of her last phrase settled over him like a weight of forgotten stars.
