Chapter 14: Option
As the people in the village started to evacuate to the training ground, the people who attacked it were getting ready to go again and finish what they started the moment the sun was about to hide behind the mountains.
The barrier that surrounded the village started to weaken, producing a faint white light. Animals that were near the village started fleeing into the forest and mountains west, east, and north of the village without looking back at the village.
They seemed to know what was going to happen if they stayed long enough near the village. Some of the curious ones stayed behind to look at the faint white light being produced by the barrier, while some of them were busy looking at the people outside of the barrier, armed with weapons they had never seen before.
"Oh, look at those damn animals."
"Looking at us like we’re doing something bad while doing them a favor."
A man with a scar on his left cheek said while looking at the animals close to them. His name was "Enovi", and he always looked like he was disgusted by something all the time. He was also one of the top players who led the people earlier to start attacking the village during the day.
"Nah, those things are not looking at us. I would say they are looking at you because of your face."
A person sitting next to him said as he looked at the animals, then turned to face the man named Enovi.
Enovi looked at him with his face expression unchanged and asked, "Are you trying to pick a fight with me?" as he sized up the man from top to bottom. The other people around them just kept their mouths shut and watched to see what would happen between the two.
The other man looked at Enovi with a serious look and said, "What if I am picking a fight with you?" But before he was able to finish his reply, Enovi punched the man, and as the man was falling, he grabbed him by the neck and smacked his head on a tree.
The man started bleeding while still being held by Enovi. His whole nose was covered by blood, and his face was scratched badly, but Enovi still couldn’t let him go and continued to smack him on the tree.
