Chapter 3 The Doom Star
"Your Majesty, he is hungry," the midwife quickly brought the child to the mother, who sat down on the bed again.
The queen carried him closer to her chest, cradling him in her arms. "You may all go out now. Remember, tell no one of what you have seen today."
The servants nodded their heads as they hastily made their way out. The queen gave a knowing look to her handmaid Plum. Understanding what she meant, Plum made her way out of the room.
"Now it’s time for you to eat," she said with the kindest smile he had ever seen.
He cried as he thought of food. He couldn’t wait to have his stomach fill up, but what came next was way out of his imagination. ’Damn it, breast milk!’ he cried inwardly in disgust as his mother shoved it into his mouth.
’I don’t drink that, take it away from me!’ He could only cry in desperation, as he couldn’t move his neck. He could only bear the assault of being fed breast milk. His grey eyes glared at his mother, but she only smiled at him, thinking of how cute he looked right now.
But what surprised him most was the fact that he found himself sucking hungrily. "I hate this, I really hate this."
Then, just when he was thinking of how kind and loving his mother was, blood-chilling screams echoed from outside their building. The sound of swords piercing and slicing through flesh and bones filled the air. His eyes widened, as he already understood what was going on.
His mother began to sing him a lullaby, gently covering his ears. "You don’t have to be the crown prince now, but don’t worry, no one is taking what belongs to you... and most importantly, no one will ever know what you really are. You are my child, my only heir," she whispered, her eyes flickered with a terrifying glint.
’Amazing, I can’t believe I have been born by a white lotus. Perfect mother. We both suit each other,’ he smiled as he focused more on his food.
The door slid open, and his mother snapped over to it.
