Chapter 91: The World Beyond The Rift!
With all of the enemies defeated, there was nothing stopping Damon from heading into the rift. He stood at the edge of the final path, no more tricks or illusions, just the rift pulsing before him.
Behind, the cathedral of High Resonance was already crumbling, especially due to the increased pressure exerted from the rift.
It was a spiraling vortex of fractured reality and Abyssal Will, stretching in every direction, feeding on the city’s lifeblood like a parasite too ancient to be named.
The chains of darkness binding it now throbbed with grotesque power, tendrils coiling lazily in the air like they were waiting for him.
Damon took a breath, though even that felt distorted now, and stepped forward. The moment his foot passed the threshold, the world inverted.
Light vanished.
Not dimmed. Not blocked. It simply ceased to exist. Damon found himself completely surrounded by a void, not just pitch black darkness, but actually nothingness, negative.
A color that had no place in language, it was like the non existence of anything. Damon couldn’t even filter it, the color was impossible to influence with any facet of his power.
However, his <Eyes Of Oblivion> at least allowed him to see what was hidden behind this veil of nothingness.
He looked down, seeing the ground beneath him was wet and slick, but not with water, instead with an oil-like Abyssal rot that pulsed and crawled with a life and mind of its own.
Looking around, Damon could recognize where he was, it was the City of Elarith Valis, but now it was a reflection, left was right, high meant low, and it was twisted, gutted and completely inverted.
