Chapter 89: Other Perspectives!

Back in the Dragon Clan, the mountain peaks were completely silent. Even the skies, usually bursting with vibrant mana currents, seemed muted, as if the world itself was holding its breath.

Artemis was standing on top of the Jade Flame Pavilion, one of the highest peaks of the Dragon Clan’s citadel, her arms crossed as she looked into the distant sky, thinking about Damon who had left a few days ago due to her mother.

The horizon shimmered with twilight mist, tinged faintly with celestial aether from the boundary between realms. She had stood there for hours, unmoving.

Her Spirit Senses had gone completely silent the moment Damon had disappeared and been teleported to the Primordial Era. No Spirits flocked around her to whisper about him, not even a glimpse of his aura, just nothing.

It was as if he’d ceased to exist. However, Artemis knew he was alive, deep down, her gut told her otherwise.

Her finger nails dug into her palm, almost drawing blood as she thought about all the danger he was in, if he was gravely injured, and worse, if he would potentially die in that Era.

Behind her, the marble doors of the Jade Flame Pavilion opened with a gentle hiss and inside stepped her mother.

Talia.

Clad in robes woven from dragonscale silk, her golden eyes glittered with timeless authority. She approached with quiet, composed steps, though her presence was anything but soft.

"I warned you," Talia said, voice cool, but not unkind. "Attachment is a weakness in our lineage, Artemis. The moment you tied yourself to him, you jeopardized your growth. As the Future Huntress, power is everything for you."
