Chapter 23: Only You’re Allowed To Do It
While internally sighing, Zar kept his head lowered in the presence of the Valley Master. However, sometime during her combing of the Rank 3 Ruby Grass, she noticed this and frowned.
"You're always looking down when you're near me," grumbled the Valley Master, pouting slightly. "If I didn't know any better, I'd think you saw me as ugly."
Zar fidgeted. His lips moved, but no words came out.
He really wasn't proficient in dealing with women...
Snorting, Valley Master Yu said, "Here, this is your Low-Grade Spirit Stone for the month. Now shoo, shoo, I have alchemy to attend to."
Graciously accepting the small, glowing blue stone thrown at him, Zar bowed in thanks. Then, he turned around and left back through the winding path.
However, before completely disappearing from view, he could have sworn he heard Valley Master Yu cursing under her breath.
'Women... are scarier than any beast...'
Zar hurriedly vacated the area, leaving even faster than he came. In half the time it took to get to the Valley Master's residence, he made it back to the beginning of the winding path.
