Transmigrated Into The True Heiress

Chapter 70: Grumpy Ass

"Do you think Ephyra should know about what Liam said?" Lyle’s words pulled Jania out of her reverie, and she looked up to see that he was seated, facing her.

Jania frowned as she understood what he was talking about. "I’m not sure, but if you wish to tell her, then you should because it could make it easier to get her cooperation. However, you will have to tell her about the connection you have with her. And it is not only a question of whether she would believe you but also of her being more suspicious and untrusting than she already is towards you."

Lyle was quiet for a moment before speaking in a low voice. "Then I guess I have to find a way to make her stay longer." Then he leaned forward, the expression on his face changing to a neutral one. "I’m sure you know why I called you here."

Jania immediately nodded. "Yes, of course. I already investigated it. I believe the time it happened was almost six months after Marriana became Ephyra’s stepmother, which was a year after Ephyra’s mother died. At first, she got sick frequently, and each time, she was taken to the hospital. But the day she got sick again and only Marriana was home, she didn’t take her to the hospital. Instead, she called a nurse over and treated her. Through some means, her father agreed to let her be treated at home, and the nanny also didn’t protest. Since then, Ephyra usually forgets things about herself and others. She was diagnosed at the hospital, but the doctors didn’t find anything causing her memory loss, so it was dismissed as a minor reaction in her brain, and the memories would come back." She paused. "When I found out that the nurse was still alive, I looked for her, but I haven’t found her yet. It seems she has a backer. Forgive me, Master Lyle."

"What about the one you sent Herrera to help you with?"

"Actually, Han informed me just before I came in that they will be here any minute—"

**Knock, knock.**

"Come in," Lyle said as he leaned forward.

The door opened, and Han stepped in. He immediately bowed to Lyle in greeting. "Master Aelion." He looked up and turned to Jania. "Herrera’s men are here."

Jania nodded and turned back to Lyle. "I will go and meet them right away, Master Lyle," she said, her voice calm.

Lyle gestured with a dismissive wave. "Go. Report back when you’re done, and don’t forget to call Ephyra."
