Chapter 42: Bag Of Trash
Myra’s face flushed with a mixture of embarrassment and anger. She took a step closer to Eira, her voice barely a whisper yet dripping with venom. "Why did you plead on my behalf? Why did you help me, putting on that fucking facade in front of father? I don’t need your help, Ephyra. Especially not from someone who can’t get anyone to love her."
Eira leaned back against the wall, crossing her arms, the amusement never leaving her eyes. "Oh, don’t be so dramatic, Myra. Who needs love from people who can’t give me the things I want? The only thing I want is to break off the engagement with that bag of trash and toss him to you so you can enjoy him. And as for why you think I helped you, be patient. You will know soon." She sneered and turned around. "No need to thank me."
With that, she walked away, leaving Myra to seethe in place. She could hear Myra muttering something incoherent, followed by Marianna’s whispered attempts to soothe her. Eira smirked to herself as she strolled down the hallway, a slight bounce in her step. Tonight had gone exactly as planned.
Reaching her room, she leaned against the door for a moment before entering. She tossed the apple core into the trash and settled at her desk to finish her assignments.
In thirty minutes, she was done with her assignments, so she decided to log into the Black Exchange. But just as she loaded the page, a call came in, and she picked it up, glancing at the caller ID.
Malia.
She answered and brought the phone to her ear.
"Hey Ephyra! Sorry for calling so late! I totally forgot and fell asleep as soon as I got home. So, what’s up? Have you finished your assignment?"
"Yes, I’ve finished and submitted it to the teacher’s email. What about you?"
"We finished ours too. Let’s do a video call!"
"Okay."
