Chapter 49: Elf Princess
Kai sighed. "Unfortunately, because my friend said she wants to help this young lady, I’ll have to decline your command. If you don’t like my answer, please feel free to file a complaint with the board or directors, and we’ll have a specialist look over it and make the changes needed to accommodate you in the future."
The assassins looked at each other in confusion, clearly not expecting the answer Kai gave. They, however, didn’t care and drew their weapons to attack.
"We’ll handle to girl. You two get the man." The leader ordered.
They dispersed, two attacking Gwen while the other two attacked Kai. Hidden knives were thrown, each of them laced with poison, and their mana engulfed their body. But the moment the knives came too close, they bounced off the barrier, flying in random directions, almost hitting the assassins.
"What the fuck!"
"What was that?"
"A barrier?"
"The mage probably protected them."
Kai turned to the girl, then back at the assassin, then back at the girl. "You better be a fucking princess or something." He pressed his hand on her head and healed her entire body. However, because of the mental stress and exhaustion, she passed out.
"He’s a healer?!"
"Ready to fight?" Gwen asked.
