Chapter 46: Rocking with Gwen
Arriving back at the village, Kai and Gwen were greeted by the village chief and the noble representative. The villagers also cheered for them as they walked along the road, thankful for their help in saving their village.
"Great Mage! You’ve returned! You managed to find the source of the problem and fix it! As expected of someone of your caliber." The representative praised.
"Thank you. Thank you so much for saving our village. Please, let me know if there is anything I can do to show my gratitude." The chief bowed, showing his respect.
"First things first, Sir, here, take this person. He’s a demon and was responsible for what happened here. I’m sure you know what to do with him?" Kai asked
The representative nodded. "I’ll interrogate him as soon as possible!"
"Good. Now, he had a lab, a place where he was hiding out. Follow the river to the north until you reach the lake. There, you’ll see a place with a cave entrance. You can check that out when you have the time."
"I’ll get on it right away." The representative told his men to take the demon, bowed, and then left.
"As for you, village chief, if there is a place my partner and I can rest up for the day, that will be lovely."
"Of course! Please, follow me."
As the chief, he and his family had the best house in the village. He led Kai and Gwen inside, giving them a guest room for their stay. Inside his house, the chief’s wife, son, and daughter-in-law greeted both of them, and Kai took this opportunity to hypnotize the family.
"Please, take this room, it’s the least I can do."
