Chapter 10: New Friends
"Okay, time to put this bastard in my inventory." Kai made sure to pick up the horn that was used as a club since it could be sold for extra money.
"There he is! Hey, man, we’re here to...help." The boy looked at Kai, who was covered in blood, and stood frozen as he saw the dead rabbit on the ground.
"Wow, you beat an Alpha Horned Rabbit," Vanessa said with surprise.
Kai furrowed his brows. "An alpha-horned rabbit? What’s that?"
"I-It’s that rabbit right there, the one you killed." The boy pointed out.
"This frog-sounding bastard? Huh? I was wondering why it was different from the other rabbits. Is it a primal beast?"
"What? No, no way. Not even close to being a primal beast. Alpha animals are just the strongest type of animal that doesn’t have mana. A primal beast was an alpha of its kind before evolving." Vanessa informed him.
Kai nodded. "I see."
"But, anyway. Thanks for helping out, man. If you weren’t here, Vanessa and I would have been toast. I’m Allen, this is my girlfriend Vanessa." Allen extended his hand for a handshake.
"Kai." He responded, shaking Allen’s hand. "You don’t mind me keeping the spoils, do you?"
"Not at all. Keep it, it’s yours. You’re the one who killed it anyway." Allen had no issues with Kai taking the loot since he didn’t do anything.
