Chapter 88: Moving Gears
Time flew and the day finally came to an end. Devin and Tyler had spent the whole day having fun, and finally it was time to call it a day.
After dinner, Tyler watched a movie with his mom and Devin, before retiring for the night. But he didn’t immediately go to sleep.
He lay in bed, the glow from his phone screen illuminating his face in the dim room, as he got ready to read Freya’s report.
Devin had long gone to bed. His laughter still echoed in Tyler’s mind, and so did his words from last night—about wanting to be like him, to protect people.
That stuck with Tyler longer than it should have. Not because he doubted Devin’s intent, but because he understood the weight behind such a path.
He smiled faintly and tapped on the GlassChannel app icon. The app launched and he saw Freya’s report waiting.
{Meeting report with Silvanus has been compiled and awaits your review. No incoming replies from the former operatives yet. I am still monitoring them and there had also been no noticeable deviation in activity since contact attempt.}
Tyler opened the attached file and began reading.
The meeting report wasn’t long, but it was thorough. Freya always kept her summaries concise, only expanding into appendices when needed.
Every detail that mattered was there—time, location, security integrity, psychological markers, Silvanus’ tone and behavior, and David’s live annotations throughout the conversation.
As for the result of the meeting, Silvanus had finally agreed to work with them.
