Pei Yansi’s words were laced with implication. Upon hearing them, Chen Wenzhou almost subconsciously furrowed his brows, his face paling as if it were paper.
He and Pei Yansi were in very different situations. He was merely the Chen family’s adopted son, and Chen Lingmeng was adamant about marrying Pei Yansi; Grandpa Chen had already nodded in agreement to the marriage.
Even though there had been some conflicts between the Chen family and Pei Yansi before the marriage was discussed, from Grandpa Chen’s perspective, he definitely didn’t want the two families to become mortal enemies.
