Chapter 406: Making a Scene
Chen Lingmeng unexpectedly appeared at the doorway, eavesdropping on their conversation. When she heard the critical part, she couldn’t control herself anymore and wheeled out from behind the wooden frame.
Chen Wenzhou also played along with Chen Lingmeng’s act, looking visibly panicked as he stood up, his voice even trembling a few times.
"Mengmeng, why are you here? Listen to me, the things I just said to Pei Yansi..."
Tears began to fall from Chen Lingmeng’s eyes, making her look utterly helpless and pitiable.
"I heard everything, Brother Yan Si, I never thought I’d be such a despicable and shameless woman in your heart," Chen Lingmeng said, her lips trembling, her eyes reddening.
Seeing her typical vulnerable appearance, Pei Yansi subconsciously frowned.
"I raised my reasonable suspicions based on the evidence I have at hand. If you have nothing to hide, there’s no need for such panic."
Even facing their concerted pressure, Pei Yansi remained calm.
"You bastard, to say such things in front of my sister, do you want to drive her to death?" Chen Wenzhou, pretending to be enraged, clenched his fist and swung a punch at Pei Yansi.
Pei Yansi, quick as a flash, raised his hand and caught Chen Wenzhou’s wrist, his cold eyes fixed on the angry man before him.
