Chapter 398: Deciding to Participate
"I said, when will you stop haunting us?"
Lu Yi had bought a pack of paper and a bottle of water. After paying, he stepped out of the convenience store only to spot an unwelcome guest. He immediately rushed forward, shielding Shen Heyu.
He positioned himself between Pei Yansi and Shen Heyu. Lu Yi was a gentle-natured person who rarely confronted others, but he had faced off against Pei Yansi several times for Shen Heyu.
Pei Yansi didn’t have the energy to waste on such a minor character. He just furrowed his brow fiercely, a trace of irritation flashing in his eyes.
He had seen Shen Heyu and Lu Yi shopping for clothes together and felt a hint of crisis in his heart, always fearing that something he dreaded would happen.
"I’m here to see my ex-wife; it has nothing to do with you. Move aside," Pei Yansi said coldly, making Lu Yi frown.
"I’m telling you, you two are over. And you’re about to marry another woman soon. I hope you have the self-awareness to not disturb her peaceful life now. She doesn’t want to see you."
Lu Yi kept emphasizing that their past was over and that Shen Heyu had started a new life.
Pei Yansi took a deep breath, his gaze towards Lu Yi growing even colder while Shen Heyu, standing in the sunlight, felt as if she had fallen into an icy cavern, her hands clenching involuntarily.
"Lu Yi, he came today to deliver an invitation," Shen Heyu said, sensing an imminent conflict and grabbing Lu Yi’s sleeve—an action that, to Pei Yansi, felt like a bomb had been dropped on his heart.
