Evangeline went blank. “Why would anyone even drink in the first place?! That stuff tastes awful!”

Evangeline, after her second awakening, had become effectively immune to alcohol’s effects. The alcohol in drinks, essentially a mild poison for normal humans, was instead instantly neutralized by her body’s natural detoxification ability. In her experience, alcohol was nothing more than bad-tasting water with no effect.

Anytime drinks were brought up, the viewers teased her relentlessly.

“I don’t get drunk, no matter how much I drink, okay?! My body automatically neutralizes alcohol!” She puffed in frustration.
