A labyrinth was an intricate puzzle where one could easily lose their sense of direction. Without any hints to rely on, the investigation team had decided that breaking walls indiscriminately wasn’t a viable option. Instead, they’d decided to employ long strings and methods like keeping to the left or right wall to navigate.
With that, the team split into groups and entered to begin their exploration. Within the labyrinth, they encountered golems shaped like minotaurs—challenging opponents, sure, but not too difficult for the knights of the Pallan Empire to handle.
In fact, they were easier to handle than the stone golems they’d encountered at the beginning. Moreover, there were no traps in sight. Given that they had two Swordmasters, navigating the labyrinth didn’t prove an overly complex problem.
After approximately an hour of unraveling their strings and advancing, the investigation team reached a massive door on the far side of the labyrinth. Contrary to their expectations of encountering numerous minotaurs at every turn, the ease of their progress left the team feeling uneasy.
