It was Daozi’s first day at school, so Daohua had the kitchen prepare some of his favorite dishes and went to Chuihua Gate to welcome him home from school.
"Do you like studying at the Academy?" Daohua asked with a smile, holding Daozi’s hand and inquiring about his day at the Academy.
Daozi nodded his head: "Yes, Mother, everyone at the Academy likes me a lot."
Walking behind them, Xiao Yeyang thought of his son standing on the table, gesticulating animatedly, and couldn’t help but laugh.
The boy was lively and not shy, which comforted Xiao Yeyang as he could easily fit in wherever he went.
"Oh, Mother, the teacher took my school bag and asked me to ask you and father, he wants to make something like mine for everyone else in the class, and asked if you would agree?"
Daohua looked towards Xiao Yeyang.
Xiao Yeyang briefly mentioned, "I just went to the Academy, spoke with the principal, and agreed."
These were minor matters, and Daohua didn’t mind. Seeing her son adapting well at the Academy, she encouraged him, "Now that you’ve started classes, you should study diligently."
"When I have free time, I will write more storybooks for you, but if you can’t read, you won’t be able to understand the stories in them."
Upon hearing this, Daozi immediately became excited and promised, "Don’t worry, Mother, I will study hard in class."
