Chapter 1904 - 1902: Caught
Chapter 1904: Chapter 1902: Caught
Originally, she intended to destroy everything here. Normally, even if her abilities were significant, and even if she were a formidable force within the Mystic Sect, in the Phoenix Clan Divine Land, merely demolishing a house would already prove her prowess.
But in such weather, under the influence of her Spiritual Fire, it seemed as though all the houses in the Phoenix Clan Divine Land were soaked in gasoline, and a single match could turn the place to ash.
Elder Sima chased closely behind her, shouting loudly, "Chengfeng, Ah Ze, let her blow up the houses if she wants, stay alert and don’t get ambushed by her."
At this moment, Qin Yize and Chu Chengfeng each held a paddle, controlling their speed, floating over the open ground of the Phoenix Clan.
Now Gu Qiaoqiao stood beside Qin Yize. Qin Yize held his instrument, while Chu Chengfeng wielded the Mystic Spirit Gun that was crafted from special materials, resembling a machine gun.
As soon as the old woman appears, the weapon would aim at her. Initially, their aim was not precise, but the three of them coordinated increasingly well.
Gu Qiaoqiao finally grasped the pattern of the woman’s space manipulation skills. After all, her Spiritual Energy and perceptive power were the strongest here, and Gu Qiaoqiao could also draw the Heaven-reaching Talisman Incantation, through which she accurately located Liu Ruye’s hiding place.
Gu Qiaoqiao lowered her voice, "This time we aim for a direct hit. You two listen to me; I’ll tell you where to shoot."
The two nodded minutely.
And the direction based on clock positions was something Qin Yize had coincidentally taught Gu Qiaoqiao, not expecting it to be of use today. Just then, familiar fluctuations appeared again, and the numbers on Qin Yize’s instrument flashed wildly, red lights flickering.
It indicated that something unusual was present nearby, and Chu Chengfeng’s focus was extraordinarily sharp. He summoned his Spiritual Fire subtly on his brow. At this moment, they floated above the open ground, not too far from the Divine Land Hall.
Clearly, Liu Ruye was getting anxious, for she hadn’t anticipated that she couldn’t seem to hit Chu Chengfeng and Qin Yize, who appeared to be drifting across the ocean, nor could she hit some other houses, some could be blown up, others couldn’t.
So she prepared to use her final strike.
At that moment, everyone acted together, and Gu Qiaoqiao shouted fiercely, "Five o’clock direction, fire!"
Subsequently, Gu Qiaoqiao’s Ice Arrow Talisman, infused with immense Spiritual Power, shot towards that direction, and at the same instant, Liu Ruye appeared. Around her was the green Spiritual Fire enveloping her, making her seem ablaze. Yet, the bullets composed of special materials from the Mystic Spirit Gun swiftly struck her chest, while numerous ice arrows surrounded her, quickly breaking through the green Spiritual Fire around her.
Liu Ruye’s face changed drastically. She lifted a cane, attempting a desperate struggle, but it was too late. The Spiritual Fire vanished, leaving her unable to sustain her space manipulation abilities, causing her to fall from mid-air.
She plummeted into the water with a splash, creating a giant wave. Qin Yize reacted swiftly, paddled, and then grabbed Liu Ruye, tossing her into the kayak.
Gu Qiaoqiao immediately drew a fiercely sharp ice arrow, thrusting it directly into Liu Ruye’s chest. Then, Chu Chengfeng took out a golden-glowing rope from the Storage Space, tying Liu Ruye up, and that wasn’t all. To prevent her escape using space techniques, Gu Qiaoqiao set up a Barrier around her.
With this, Liu Ruye was finally trapped on the kayak.
Elder Sima and Elder San Ye gradually appeared. Elder San Ye’s eyes blazed with fury, pointing at Liu Ruye and cursing fiercely, "You heartless wench! If not for you, our Phoenix Clan wouldn’t have suffered this calamity. Not only do you not repent, but now you attempt to destroy the Phoenix Clan Divine Land. Liu Ruye, I ask you, the Phoenix Clan raised you with the finest resources. How have we ever wronged you?"
Liu Ruye was trapped within the Barrier; she moved slightly and looked at the ropes binding her. She knew they were made of special materials left by the Old Clan Leader. She couldn’t break free, and the ice arrow had already melted. At this moment, Liu Yeru felt chilled, as if her heart had become frozen.
Yet she still glared viciously at the three before her, with a sideways glance at the furious Elder Sima and the other elders. Her smile carried a mockery, and she chose to close her eyes, saying nothing more.
By now, the torrential rain finally ceased. That afternoon, the Phoenix Clan Divine Land suffered another pillage; two-thirds of the houses were destroyed, and fires still burned in the distance.
Then Gu Qiaoqiao noticed the water gradually receding.
It was indeed peculiar, as though everything was meticulously planned.
But regardless of how calculated things were, it was futile. Liu Ruye was taken to the Divine Land Hall.
However, the water didn’t completely subside, and by then, the sky began to darken.
Having reset the Barrier for Liu Ruye, Elder Sima took her onto a small boat heading towards the hall, and other clan members climbed down from rooftops where they had taken shelter, all wearing grim expressions, glaring at Liu Ruye as though they wished to strip her to the bone.
At such a point, Gu Qiaoqiao and Qin Yize didn’t want to get involved further; there certainly were many complex grudges here.
So Qin Yize took Gu Qiaoqiao and paddled towards their courtyard.
The water continued to withdraw little by little, albeit the land ravaged by the flood differed from regular rain. Fortunately, this wasn’t a town; there wasn’t much trash, only some dead animals and rotting leaves and branches from the trees. Still, it left quite a mess.
Qin Yize pulled Gu Qiaoqiao into the kayak’s rain shelter.
The Mystic Spirit Gun was in Chu Chengfeng’s hand, and Qin Yize fiddled with the instrument in his hand, lamenting, "This instrument still has many flaws and needs more improvements."
Gu Qiaoqiao smiled slightly, "This is already quite remarkable. It allowed us to find Liu Ruye’s hiding place promptly..."
Qin Yize shook his head, "Still, it didn’t perform to its full efficiency..."
Then he set the instrument aside, sitting cross-legged on the kayak. There was still about half a meter of water yet to recede, and the kayak floated lightly above it. Around them, the ruins seemed to have endured a world war, but this small space was particularly warm, with a unique lamp hung above, making it notably bright.
"Qiaoqiao, why don’t you take a look in the painting and see what Xiao Bao and Xiao Bei are up to? Perhaps they’re crying for you..."
