Chapter 124: Nolen took their bait.
"Didn’t think of anything yet. But, let’s see what my uncle has in his mind. But in the meantime, I will ask my men to investigate about him and to also keep an eye on him." Brina said, smiling a little.
She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, trying to calm down her racing pulse.
"If you want, I am here to help you as well." Louis said, squeezing her hand which is resting on her thigh.
Brina smiled gratefully and took his hand into hers, before kissing it and resting it against her cheek. She closed her eyes once again, as if drawing the comfort and warmth from his presence.
"I know that you will always be there for me just like how I will always be here to support you no matter what." Brina promised after a few moments of silence. However, she is not yet aware how much these words would come true, impacting on their relationship more than anything.
Louis smiled back and shifted their entwined hands near his lips. "Forever and always." he promised.
After that, none of them talked for a while, enjoying their love for each other.
"At first I doubted my grandfather’s intentions too, but once I observed him carefully I realised that he had actually changed, honey. It might be because he experienced the pain of losing somebody and never getting them back. I am glad that my accident helped me to get my grandfather." Brina said happily, after a few minutes.
"Indeed! And, on the brighter side, you can see that everything is happening well and good after I came into your life. I am your lucky charm." Louis teased.
Brina laughed, her eyes forming a crescent shape. "It’s actually so true. You are the light in my dark life." she told him.
"Likewise, honey. You totally changed my boring and routine life into something more interesting and lively. You have actually changed a piece of wood into a cheesy man to be precise." he chuckled.
