Chapter 95: Thank You
Settling into his seat right next to Jason, Noah glanced at Emma in the back row. He could see the worry in her eyes as she looked at him.
Noah’s lips curled slightly into a reassuring smile.
"I’m fine, Emma..." he said, trying to ease her concern. "Do you want to go back to the office?"
"I’m done with work. I planned to go home early today..." she replied softly.
Just as Noah was about to offer to drive Emma home, Jason suddenly cut in.
"Noah, I need to go to the hospital. Could you drop me off first before taking Emma to her house?"
Noah was speechless when he heard that.
’Can you stop trying to set me up with her? She is only my close friend, nothing more,’ Noah protested through their mental connection.
’Ah, I didn’t think of it that way, boss,’ Jason said with a brief smile, glancing at him before turning his focus back to the street ahead.
He added, ’It just so happened that the nurse updated me on my father’s progress, and I feel I should visit him. I can cancel if you’d prefer...’
’No. It’s fine... We will go to the hospital first.’ Noah silently sighed before he answered Jason loudly. "Sure, man..."
Then he turned again to Emma in the back seat and asked, "Emma, we’re heading to the hospital first, then to your house... Are you okay with that?"
