Chapter 48: First Kill
"N-Noah, why... You hit me?" Jack’s tone trembled with fury.
"I told you you’re not supposed to ask questions, Jack. But you need to answer me honestly!"
Jack vented his frustration through his glare and shut his mouth tightly, waiting for Noah to ask.
"Why did you kill my mother?" Noah’s voice seething with rage. The calmness in his eyes had vanished entirely; they burned with intense fury, glinting ominously as if they were ready to explode.
"Because you make me angry. You humiliated me in public, and you fucking try to woo the woman I love!!"
Noah feels as if his blood is boiling upon hearing Jack admit what he did to his mother. He is indeed the one who killed her.
However, Noah was confused by Jack’s last words. ’I’m chasing the woman he loves? Who? Julia?’
"What woman? Are you talking about Julia Hart?"
"Yes—" Jack shouted, but a mouthful of blood spilled from his mouth again, interrupting him from expressing his anger further. His breath grew short, and his gaze, no longer as furious as before, appeared frightening in his eyes.
’What the hell is wrong with this guy? He knows Julia only plays with my heart, but... he still hates me? This is why he loathed me so deeply and continues to make my life miserable.’ Noah feels an overwhelming drive to ask all these questions, but he thinks it would be a waste of his time.
Suddenly, something crosses Noah’s mind. And his hatred for Julia arises once again.
