Chapter 66: Royal Palace (Part 3)
His enemy’s movements were agile, but Alvaric twisted his body, dodging the first strike and immediately countered with a horizontal slash from the Crimson Sword Demon.
Clang!
Their attacks clashed, sending a shockwave that threw several generals flying. However, they quickly regained their footing.
"Interesting..." Alvaric muttered. "You’re stronger than the soldiers from earlier. But I’ll still kill as many of you as I can."
Suddenly, one of the backup generals—a demi-human woman with a horn on her forehead and ice-based magic—raised her hand. The ground around Alvaric instantly froze, and spikes of ice erupted from the earth, trying to impale him from all directions.
But with a burst of mana from his feet, Alvaric jumped high into the air and landed atop one of the ice spikes. Blood began seeping from his pores, forming a dark red liquid armor over his entire body.
"Blood Armor," he whispered.
Three demi-humans attacked simultaneously. One with spiked chains, another with a large shield and hammer, and the last with earth magic.
They coordinated well. Even though they weren’t in their ideal ten-man formation—two had already died, and Tamae was absent—they still fought fiercely with only seven.
In an instant, the blood in the air—the remnants from his wounded foot—moved. Alvaric waved his hand, and dozens of blood needles shot forth, forcing the attackers to retreat.
"What are we even fighting?" one of the demi-humans hissed, clearly shaken.
