Chapter 124: Temple Beneath The Tempest
Pip blinked through his status screen as he scrolled past a string of notifications, buzzing slightly with pride as he went over the outcomes of his latest conquest.
[Pleasure Power Lv. 58]
[New Skill Unlocked: Wind Manipulation Lv.1]
[Achievement Unlocked: Breath of the Desert]
[Structural Integrity: 91%]
New skill.
New power.
Wind Manipulation, gifted straight from the desert spirit herself, apparently at the same time that her orgasm nearly rattled the divine crystal loose from his chest.
He also noticed, tucked at the very bottom of the readout, that his User Happiness Index had climbed to a number with far too many nines in it.
Vuvi’s on him in seconds, hands running over his chassis, checking joints and seams. "Are you okay? What happened in there?"
He gave a confused beep, then opened his palm and it started to gently glow.
A small spiral of sand lifted off the ground below them, coiling lazily into the air, settling above his fingers like a tiny, completely obedient tornado. He tilts his hand, and it slowly tilts with it, little grains glinting as they catch the sun’s light.
"Did she teach you that," Zora asked, deadpan, "or did you just absorb it through... osmosis?"
Pip gives an offended chirp and pointedly aims the sand spiral at Zora’s face. It scattered harmlessly off his cheekbones, which doesn’t stop Zora from staggering backward clutching his skull like he’s been mortally wounded.
Penelo and Lula shrieked in unison. "He learned wind magic!" They’re already dancing around him, whispering about all the creative bedroom applications of a divine pleasure-bot who can control air currents.
"Do you know what you could do with a gentle breeze aimed just right?" Penelo starts.
"I was thinking more floating in midair... upside down." Lula counters, wiggling her eyebrows.
"Ohhh... the sounds dangerous! And Thrilling!" Penelo says with a shudder.
"Worth it!"
"Definitely!"
Vuvi shakes her head, chuckling despite herself. "Of course you two would go there first."
"I did say this would happen," Zora says smugly. "Not wind magic specifically, that part’s a surprise, but a power-up, absolutely."
Veena and Sera wander over, equally impressed. "Dibs on testing it in the bedroom first," Sera announces flatly, like she’s claiming the last creampuff.
Lula and Penelo both gasp, rounding on her with matching scowls. "We called dibs first!"
"You called dibs on the last new power," Sera points out. "This one’s mine."
"That’s not how dibs works!"
"It’s exactly how dibs works."
"Remind me to set up a schedule so these three can stop arguing." Veena says as she pinches the bridge of her nose. "Penelo and Lula did get first dibs on the water and verdant magic though."
"Unfair!" Penelo and Lula whine in protest.
Meanwhile, Raikya had crept right up to the newly restored desert spirit, sniffing at her like she’s some new species entirely, poking at her arm as the sprite twirls and preens, thoroughly delighted with her own upgraded body.
"You smell different," Raikya announced. "Less like sand. More like... lightning before it strikes."
"I feel like lightning before it strikes," the spirit says, flexing an arm and admiring her new muscle definition. "Do you think this counts as a glow-up, or a full evolution?"
"Have you seen your boobs?" Sera smirks, "Evolution. Definitely."
"They are glorious aren’t they." The spirit giggles, bouncing her mighty chest smugly.
Vuvi rounds on Pip. "You used the secret sauce, didn’t you?"
He shakes his head furiously. An emphatic, almost offended denial.
"So you didn’t... finish?"
Another head shake. "Oh." She pauses, and he sends her a gentle thought-wave. Steady, warm, unmistakably filled with a sense of honesty and loyalty. Vuvi softened instantly, patting his chest plate. "I trust you, Pip. Fully."
He gives an appreciative chirp.
"So a good orgasm is all it takes to restore a magical being," Veena contemplates aloud.
Raikya perks up. "Do you get power-ups when he pleasures you?"
"No," Lula sighs wistfully, "Just godly orgasms. Life-changing! Not literal power-ups, though. That’s what his the secret sauce for. OW!"
Vuvi swats Lula’s behind on reflex. "Which is secret for a reason. If word got out, we’d have every noble house on the continent trying to bottle him."
"We could charge a fortune," Sera muses, already sounding like she’s drafting a business plan. "The Pleasure Prince’s Private Reserve. Small batch. Ethically sourced."
"Sera!" Vuvi snapped.
"I’m just saying, the packaging alone—"
"Seraaaa!"
"Noted! Shutting up!"
"The strange stuff in the vial?" Raikya presses. "The one that turned Lula into a baroness and gave Penelo the animal-mind-control thing? It comes from him?"
"That’s the one. And it needs to stay quiet."
"What happens if I drink it?"
Vuvi shrugs. "No idea. Probably turns you into a werewolf. Bigger, stronger, furrier."
"Cuter!" Penelo giggles, hugging Raikya’s from behind. "We should give her some. For science."
Raikya’s mouth turns into a predatory grin. Vuvi jabs a finger at her. "No. No unsupervised transformations."
"I wasn’t going to be unsupervised. Frostlick would be right there."
"Frostlick doesn’t count as supervision, she’d just bark encouragement."
Frostlick, hearing her name, barks encouragement.
"See?" Vuvi tilts her head. "That."
Raikya pouts, then slides her gaze toward Pip, eyes glittering with mischief. Vuvi gasps. "I can see what you’re planning."
"I’m not planning anything," Raikya says, hands raised in perfectly unconvincing innocence.
"Right... you’re planning supervised unsupervised transformations."
"...That’s not a real category."
"It is with you guys." Vuvi groans and rubs the bridge of her nose before turning back to the desert spirit. "Ok, boulder-boobs, We had a deal. Pip’s done his part. Now it’s your turn. Answers, and a way out of this sun-baked sandbox."
The spirit pulled Vuvi into a crushing hug, practically vibrating with gratitude. "I’ll do anything you ask. Anything at all. You have to understand. You didn’t just restore me. You powered me up. This form should’ve taken centuries of careful magical siphoning to reach, and even then only if I never once ran dry, never once got careless. I barely survived getting this far. And he did it in one brain-shattering orgasm." She glances back at Pip with something close to worship. "He truly is a gift from the Great Mother. Helping you isn’t a favor. It’s my duty!"
She pulled back, beaming. "I’ll get you out. But first... there’s something you need to see."
She leads them back to the weathered stone structure where they’d found her, lifting her hands as swirling energy gathers in her palms. "Hang on to something!"
"Hang onto what?" Sera asks.
Raikya, Penelo, and Lula scramble onto Frostlick’s back. Vuvi and Veena grab an arm each as Pip, startling both of them, lifts off the ground, floating on a column of air.
"Oh gods." Veena says, grabbing tightly onto Pip’s shoulder. "He flies now."
"Wind magic. I love it!" Vuvi says with grin.
Sera, with visible reluctance, climbs onto Zora, who wraps his bony hands around her thighs and murmurs something about her "remarkable muscle tone."
"Hands, mister. Behave yourself!" Sera warns.
"I make no promises, M’lady." Zora says solemnly. "I have no blood flow. I can’t tell where these bony appendages end up."
A colossal whirlwind erupts around the ruin, tearing hundreds of feet of sand into the sky and hurling it across the dunes in great, shimmering sheets. The roar of it swallows every other sound. Penelo’s delighted squeal, Zora’s dramatic yelp, Sera’s muttered curse as her hair whips loose from its braid. And beneath the vanishing dunes, rising inch by inch like something surfacing from the deep, because it was deep, a massive stone structure emerged.
Carved pillars, weathered reliefs, a temple that hasn’t seen open sky in longer than anyone present has been alive.
The desert-spirit descends on a cushion of swirling sand, Pip drifting beside her with Veena and Vuvi cradled in his arms. Zora trails behind, grinning ear to ear right up until Sera slaps the back of his skull.
"Hands. Out. Of my ass."
"A lapse in concentration!" Zora protests. "Profuse apologies. It won’t happen again."
"It happened twice."
"Entirely unrelated incidents. I assure you."
"That’s his property," Sera says, jerking a thumb at Pip, who is trying very hard to look like he isn’t listening while also floating directly beside them.
Zora sighs, wistful. "Even for a divine construct, you are far too blessed, Pip. A skeleton can only dream."
Pip gives him a sympathetic thought-wave, which nearly sends Zora tumbling out of formation entirely.
Below, Frostlick bounds down the collapsing sand walls in great leaping strides, launching off each shifting ridge before it can crumble out from under her paws. Raikya throws her head back and howls with delight, wind whipping through her fur, while Penelo and Lula cling to her waist and each other, shrieking every time the frosthound’s paws leave the ground for even a heartbeat.
The group finally touches down at a towering entrance flanked by half-eroded statues, their carved faces worn smooth by centuries of buried sand. The desert spirit spreads her arms wide, regal and radiant, the last of the sand storm settling into quiet stillness around her bare feet.
"Welcome," she announces, "to the Temple of the Earth Mother."
Vuvi stares up at the looming pillars, then back at Pip, then at the spirit. "Of course there’s a temple," she mutters.
"It’s ancient," Zora offers, sliding Sera off his back and immediately catching an elbow to the ribs for his trouble, "...it might hold knowledge."
"Do we need to perform for the Earth Mother too?" Veena asks, "The Seedmother had an altar and everything."
"Perfect!" the spirit grinned, "You already know how it works?"
