Chapter 35: The sensual supplications of a Saint-Sister
Lihona, saint-sister of the Church of the Great Mother, clasps Pip's hand gently in her own, smiling as if she'd just discovered a long-lost treasure.
"Come, divine one," she says softly.
Still completely naked, her long golden hair swaying like silk, she leads Pip down the stone steps of the restaurant and into the cobbled streets of Market Town.
Two royal knights flank them. Silent, stoic, armor gleaming, swaying hips betraying their masculine presence.
Behind them follow Vuvi, Penelo, and Veena, all three trailing in a confused, irritated procession.
"Where are we even going?" Vuvi asks, arms crossed.
"To the Cathedral of Mercy," Lihona answers, barely bothering to look back. "It's not far. A place of peace. And privacy."
Vuvi groans. "Great. You're gonna just strut through the streets, full birthday suit and all?"
Lihona gives a soft giggle and a flick of her hair. "Is that a silly question? I always do this."
Penelo covers her mouth, wide-eyed. "Wait. Always always?"
"She does," Veena mutters. "I've read about these sisters. Fully devoted. Nothing hidden. Literally or metaphorically."
