The Evolution of Genius: Every Night, I Get Smarter!

Chapter 123: Not Allowed

We looked around for a place that my parents could stay, and we spotted a cozy teahouse, deciding that it was perfect for my parents to relax.

Inside, exotic music played as we found a table by the window. My parents sank into their seats, glad for a break. We ordered some tea and snacks.

After a satisfying meal, we said goodbye to my parents, leaving them to do their sightseeing on their own and we set off for the mountains.

As we began our hike up the mountain, the sun played hide-and-seek behind the clouds, casting shimmering shadows on the glistening and winding mountain road.

It was supposed to be a sunny place, but it clearly rained not too long ago. The air was crisp and clean, invigorating us as we ascended higher and higher.

Veronica, Oliv, and I chatted as we walked, the occasional chirp of a bird or rustle of leaves being the only interruption to our conversation.

Me and Oliv have been hiking quite a bit in the past so we weren’t that tired, but Veronica was clearly feeling the strain of the hike.

"Are we almost there?" she asked, her voice tinged with exhaustion.

"Yeah, we’re almost there," I reassured her, though I knew we still had a ways to go.

As we continued, more and more hikers joined us on the trail, a sure sign that we were nearing the summit. Eventually, we reached a clearing where the trees gave way to a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains.

"Wow," breathed Olivia, her eyes wide with wonder.
