Chapter 24: Close up
Autumn was halfway through snapping at Kieran...something about him being a cocky bastard and needing to slow the hell down...when the bike screeched to a sudden halt.
She gasped, clutching tighter to his waist, her body jolting forward. Gravel crunched beneath the tires. The dust cloud settled slowly, unveiling a silhouette at the base of the foothills just ahead.
Kieran’s muscles went stiff beneath her touch.
Autumn squinted into the haze and then she saw her.
Selene?!
Long legs, leather boots, wind swept ebony hair cascading over a tight black corset that hugged her body like sin.
She wasn’t just beautiful, she was devastating. The kind of woman who did not need to try. She breathed sex. Period!
And she stood there, arms outstretched for Kieran like some dark siren. Her lips curled into a smirk that sent a warning tremor down Autumn’s spine.
Kieran did not say anything. Did not move.
Autumn reluctantly peeled herself off him, her legs slightly trembling as she stood up behind the bike, eyes darting between the two.
The tension was thick...so thick she could taste the bile in her throat. Her fingers clenched instinctively, nails digging into her palm.
