Chapter 150: Miss Lau Wishful Thinking
When assistant Yao heard what the woman said, he was so angry that he wanted to rush over and hit someone. How could people be so malicious? Taking advantage of the older woman just because she didn’t know her. It was ridiculous. It was a good thing that he had already decided to move, otherwise the people in this place would eat his mother alive without her being the wiser.
"Miss Lau, if I remember correctly you don’t have a husband or a son, so, where did your sick son who needs food come from and where is the husband who is going out to look for supplies and bring them to you?" Assistant Yao asked as he rushed over to stand in front of his mother.
He started wondering how many people had cheated his mother with similar excuses before? His mother would probably not mention something like someone borrowing a pack of noodles because she would think it was too petty. But who knew what these people were saying behind her back.
He felt that he needed to take his boss’ advice and take his mother out when looking for supplies one of these days so that she could experience what the world had become. This way, she won’t believe people so easily anymore.
When the woman referred to as Miss Lau heard that she had been exposed, she got angry and shouted at assistant Yao for being petty.
"It’s just two packs of noodles, it’s not like I am taking all your food away. Why do you have to be so calculative about it? You are a man yet you are more calculative about small losses than a woman."
"If getting food is something petty, then go out and fight with zombies and get some for yourself. You are afraid of even leaving the front door of this building yet you have the audacity to tell me that I am being petty for defending myself. Such vampires like you are the ones causing humanity to sink faster into extinction." Assistant Yao hadn’t been so angry in a long time.
He had never seen someone so thick-skinned. She was there to swindle others and once exposed, she became angry and started calling people petty. How ironic.
