"Have you found the catalyst core or whoever took it?" The rough voice came from the laptop.
"Not yet Commander Qiu. But Vortex found a residue energy signature from the scene and is following it. We will find it soon." Blaze was the one on the other end and replied.
"How useless are you people? Do I need to send more people? With such advanced technology than any other group on this planet, you can’t find a single person?" Commander Qiu retorted with anger laced in his voice.
"Sorry Commander Qiu, we will double our efforts and find them soon." Came the reply from the obviously younger and scared man.
"You better hurry up. The faster we find the catalyst core, the faster our power can grow, then even if she comes, we will have nothing to fear." Commander Qiu replied immediately and hung up the call.
The bedroom fell into an eerie silence. Lu Zhen and Leng Pan were aware that the catalyst core these people were searching for was the meteorite they picked up. Meaning that they were the ones being tracked.
This also explained the feeling Leng Pan had when she said someone or something was tracking them and trying to investigate her space.
The so-called energy signature the people on the call were talking about should be the remaining energy at the roadside spot where they had picked up that rock.
