After a few months of getting the same reply, she stopped asking, thinking that it might even take a decade for the money to be released.

After all, that is how many people she knew in the place she lives do things. Thus, she assumed that Leng Pan, using the money her parents left behind to buy a house had already used up all their savings.
Thus, she didn’t continue to ask for the luxury goods she had been clambering for and pretended to be an understanding friend.
She thought that since Leng Pan could still live in such a luxurious apartment in the future, even without as much money as before, she could maintain their friendship.
