He thought it being that unusual color showed its mutation.
"No, it wasn’t like that. It was deep crimson, yes, but it didn’t have the purple hue you mentioned. It must have mutated further."
Thinking of the spiritual spring water they drank last evening, it made sense that something would change. Luckily, it was a good change.
