Chapter 25: The Old Bookstore
"Smart. But instead of buying books, let’s buy a bookshop in the ancient street. Assistant Yao did some research and sent me two popular libraries and bookshops that have everything anyone would need.
I am in favor of the one I am talking about because it not only had all types of books for school from elementary to college, but also ancient texts that preserve our culture.
There is also a section of educational documentaries and movies that promote literature and culture.
They have research journals of different subjects and disciples. Basically anything you can think of, even educational materials on music, art, technology. Everything.
The owner is an old man in his eighty’s and he didn’t have a family. The shop has been in his family for generations, but since he has no child to pass it on to, he had wanted to find a buyer who would treat it with respect and carry on the mission of preserving records of the progress of human beings.
Unfortunately, many people who want to buy it focus on commercialization. Thus, he hasn’t found the right buyer. I believe our goal aligns with his and we can convince him to sell tonight.
Then we will have secured the educational future of the generations to come." Lu Zhen explained his plan and view.
"You thought of everything. I believe that the old owner will be thrilled to know your plans." Leng Pan said.
"Assistant Yao already contacted him, he is waiting for us at the bookshop." Lu Zhen explained again why they had to go tonight.
The two fell into a comfortable silence. Even though no one was talking, they both knew that the other was there with them. Always.
They arrived at the bookshop in less than thirty minutes but when Leng Pan saw the shop she was surprised.
