Chapter 10: Let’s Get Married
Getting to Lu Zhen’s office, he invited Leng Pan to sit on the couch and took the food box from her.
He then went into the small kitchen in the office and took two bowls and pairs of chopsticks.
Once everything was arranged on the coffee table, he invited Leng Pan to the bathroom to wash her hands then they sat back on the couch to eat.
As soon as the food container was opened, Lu Zhen knew where the food had come from.
"You went to Uncle Li’s restaurant? How did you know about it?" He asked as he placed some braised pork in Leng Pan’s bowl of rice.
"I have my ways, but I had to use your name to get him to pack the meal for me." Leng Pan replied as she ate the food Lu Zhen placed in her bowl.
Seeing her eating the food he picked without any complaints, Lu Zhen was overjoyed. This meant that she was not repulsed by him and had started to accept him.
He actually had an impulse to ask her to marry him at that moment, but he was afraid that would scare her away when she had just started to warm up to him.
The two ate in silence after that. The lunch took forty minutes before everything on the table was cleared.
Leng Pan didn’t know how to breach the real subject that had brought her there.
Eating lunch together was just an excuse as at the moment she had too many things to do. If she wanted to eat lunch with him she could wait a few days.
