Chapter 528: Human Pillow
Rui went home straight after giving Ruth a lift to her apartment. He felt so emotionally weak as he walked inside his house.
It was almost dinner time yet no news from Cali. He walked straight to his room and threw his tired body on the bed, trying to calm his crying heart.
He did not dare follow Cali to the gaming machines because he was scared of seeing her enjoying her time with Edward. The scene of Cali smiling and talking to Edward kept playing before his eyes and torturing him.
He got up from the bed and cleaned himself before he went out headed straight to the bar. He wanted to get wasted for once so he could not feel any pain.
He drank while staring at his mobile phone every once in a while. He was waiting for Cali to call or at least send him a text message to inform him if she would eat dinner outside, but more than an hour had passed yet there was nothing.
Rui grabbed more cans of beer and drank everything one by one. He could feel his body was burning hot as the alcohol was consuming him already.
Unconsciously, tears welled up and fell from his eyes. He was sitting there and sobbing alone as he poured all his heartache out with his tears.
Cali was his wife, but he could not even touch her like he used to. He couldn’t even tell her to not go to any other man when it was his right to tell her so.
His situation was just too much for him to bear, but he was trying his best... because he could not let her go just yet... He wanted to take his chance and fight for her.
Rui opened another can of beer and downed it in his throat in a single go. He picked the next can and drowned himself in the alcohol by downing more and more alcohol.
Meanwhile, Cali was with Edward, but her mind was drifting somewhere else.
