Chapter 618: A woman deserves to be treasured
Despite having given herself a headstart, she felt Linhou catching up fast and knew he would catch up with her if she didn’t speed up. So she accelerated and felt like she was flying, only for Linhou to cross the finish line a few seconds before she did.
"Hey! That shouldn’t count. Let’s go again." She complained.
He took off his helmet with a scoff. "You cheated, yet you have the guts to complain about losing?"
When he saw her unhappy expression, he used his height to his advantage and patted her head. "Let’s play a game you will definitely beat me at."
"Sounds like a good plan." She agreed, and he laughed. Yue was way too competitive to accept that she had lost. He knew he was only distracting her for now as she would soon challenge him to another race—probably when she had mustered more skill to defeat him.
For now, he could simply enjoy her presence.
He took her to the indoor swimming pool and as expected, Yue looked overjoyed. She must have been a siren in her past life—she could swim like she owned the water.
She glanced up at him to silently ask if he brought clothes for her to change into, now that he had planned this as well. Sure enough, he pointed toward the changing room. "Second stall."
She nodded and ran all the way in. Changing out of the racing attire that made her feel like a superhero, she glanced through the three different swimsuits and thought about which one to choose. If Linhou was still only her friend, she would have chosen the one-piece swimsuit with a skirt so she would be appropriate.
