Chapter 604: Beautiful
Lanni and Xiehan went back to the party thinking they were done with family members they didn’t want to deal with but apparently, they had celebrated too early.
She groaned in frustration when Wen Lin made her way to the garden with Ji Huifen in tow.
"I will not let them hurt you again." Xiehan slid beside her, promising as he held her hand.
She never doubted that. She just didn’t want to ever deal with Wen Lin anymore.
Before Wen Lin could get to them, she was stopped by Xinghe.
"What are you doing here? Who let you in?"
Wen Lin was taken aback by the sudden outburst. "We are friends, Xinghe. I didn’t expect you of all people to treat me this way."
Xinghe rolled her eyes. "And I didn’t expect you to treat Lanni the way you did. I thought you had come to your senses when I convinced her that you deserved her forgiveness, then you went and deceived her and your own son."
Wen Lin knew she would never be able to live it down and she didn’t want to start an argument so she asked, "Can I see my grandson, just once?"
"He is my son. Not your grandson." Xiehan interrupted, making Wen Lin’s eyes cloud with tears. His meaning was clear. He was not her son anymore. She already knew this but it broke her heart nonetheless.
"You can see him, but you have to be searched to make sure you are not carrying anything that could harm my son." Lanni stated. She was certain that Wen Lin would never agree to such a term so when she did, she was taken aback.
