"It was all fake?" Lanni couldn’t wrap her head around it when Xiehan told her everything. They had been worried about Ji Huifen when all there was to it was a scheme?
"I was angrier when I found out. Forget about them." He hugged her, breathing in her scent. They had managed to have some rest after his return from the hospital and slept in for most of the morning. Cheng Yu and Cedric had left soon after they woke up, leaving the house to the two of them.
"Looks like I’m already late for work. I’ll have to work from home today."
"So will I." It would be afternoon by the time he made it to Feng Ji International. He might as well put that hour to good use.
"Do you want to go for a swim?"
She glanced out through the window. The swimming pool looked inviting and the sun was bright, but she shook her head. "I’ll pass. I don’t think I’m in the mood to get wet."
When he raised an eyebrow and grinned, she realized how that sounded. She slapped her forehead. "You know what I mean. I’m not in the mood to get wet by having water all over me. Maybe next time."
He retained his grin, stepping into her personal space. "Does that mean you are in the mood of getting other kinds of wet?"
She didn’t have the chance to respond before he took her lips in his. He brushed his tongue against her lips gently at first, before it quickly became heated. He couldn’t stop himself from running his hands down her body. No matter how many times he had her, he could never have enough. She still drove him crazy every time as though it was the first time.
