Chapter 256: Birds of a feather
Lanni waited with bated breath and when Xiehan finally received a message notification, she quickly asked what had happened.
"The police have her now." Xiehan announced happily.
Lanni threw herself into his arms and wrapped her hands around his body. "Finally. She is finally in the hands of the police."
"She will not be able to bother us anymore." Xiehan cupped her face, pressing a light kiss onto her forehead.
"Although I still think this is going too easy on her, it is much better than having her continue to walk around as a free woman and cause more trouble." Lanni cheerfully grabbed her phone. "I think we should really celebrate this. Once she is sentenced, we will celebrate again."
Her phone rang just as she was about to make a call.
"I’ll take this." She smiled at him and answered the call.
"Did you see the news? Did I do well?" Lin Jian quickly asked for praise, and Lanni could as well imagine his excited expression like a kid asking for candy.
A chuckle escaped her lips as she praised. "You did well."
However, the guy was not satisfied. Instead, he complained. "That’s not fair at all! Are you only going to thank me verbally?"
Lanni laughed when she heard the familiar words. Birds of a feather do flock together, don’t they? Before they started dating, those were the same words Xiehan would use every time he did her the tiniest favor.
