Blaze’s pov
Labyrinth has changed.
It wasn’t in a bad way, it was in a maddening good way.
He was no longer timid or shy or self conscious. He was confident and exuded so much fierceness that it was almost overwhelming. As I watched people wave and scream his name while he transported us all in the air with the help of magic since I couldn’t teleport us because I didn’t know what where we were currently headed looked like, it hit me that he had drastically changed.
I guess now I’m gonna have to come to terms with that fact. The mate who I had to protect from everything including his own self was nowhere to be found and in his place was this confident young man who was now so matured. He wasn’t even a prince anymore, he was now a freaking king and he was doing a really great job at that from the looks of things. The people of this clan definitely wouldn’t love him this way if he was maltreating them, and that’s the last thing labyrinth would ever do.
When we got to the palace, I was consumed with surprise at how big the palace of the warlock clan is. When he settled us on the ground, the magical bubble around us disappeared and my mate exhaled slowly. I was standing beside him almost immediately, draping my arms across his shoulders and pulling him against my chest. I had missed doing that and now I wasn’t sure I’d be able to stop. He peered up at me and color dusted his cheeks as he leaned into me. I was certain he had missed this even more than me since he had to still keep on living while suffering through my absence, compared to me who wasted away in a cave.
"Your majesty." A few voices chores out, pulling me out of my thoughts and my eyes settled on about five men bowing their heads at my mate.
"Rise, please." He told them with an easy wave of his hand. I expected him to try getting out of my hold because of embarrassment but he did none of that. Instead, his hand settled against my bicep as he continued.
