Chapter 202: Bracing Up
Jules’ pov
My father apparently searched for the will in order to destroy it, but my grandfather had it stored in the hands of an invincible confidante. The day I left the palace for the first time, the confidante approached me and handed the will over to me. It contained a lot of riches and resources all under my name. My grandfather left me a note and a little recording clip." He paused for a moment and I remained silent, not wanting to interrupt.
"He didn’t say much in it, because I was technically a stranger to him. He didn’t know what I looked like because my father kept me hidden from everyone. In the clip, he introduced himself and told me he didn’t think I was a monster. Then he urged me to burn through his riches because I’d never be able to finish it. And that was it."
My mouth was hanging open by the time he finished explaining everything to me. Never in my wildest dream did I imagine that Blaze’s riches didn’t come from his father. The more I hear about his father, the more I’m realizing that he’s really something else entirely.
"That’s... that’s really crazy. I can’t believe your father killed his own father. I can’t believe your grandfather did that too. All of this is still blowing my mind." I revealed and he chuckled at the expression on my face. He tugged me closer to him, his grip tightening around my middle.
"I was just as shocked to discover that I had a grandfather who actually wanted to see me that bad." He paused and nuzzled my shoulder for a moment.
"It’s great that we never got to see each other though. If he had met up with me, I’m certain he’d have believed something was wrong with me." He rolled his eyes as he spoke and I instantly shook my head, wrapping my arms around his shoulders as I spoke.
"Don’t say that, Blaze. He sounds amazing, I think he’d have loved you." I insisted and Blaze snickered, looking genuinely amused.
"Did you think my grandfather is a saint?" He drawled before continuing when I remained silent.
