Chapter 47: An Angered Wolf
Jules’ pov
My heart was racing really fast and my stomach was in tight knots as I stepped into the elevator along with Kai.
After I realized how late it was about an hour ago, I had informed Kai about wanting to head back as fast as possible. He had been alarmed at first, thinking something was wrong, but I was quick to reassure him that everything was alright. Because, what was I going to say to him?
That I’m rushing back because Blaze had asked me not to be late tonight?
He insisted on returning back with me, and throughout the cab ride, I remained tense while trying to think about what Blaze is gonna do to me tonight.
"Are you sure nothing’s wrong?" Kai asked once again and I glanced at him before shaking my head in response.
"Nothing is, I promise." I responded just as the elevator stopped on the third floor which he said he and a friend were rooming together in.
I thought he was gonna step out at once, but that didn’t happen. Instead, he tugged me into a hug. My eyes widened in shock at the unexpectedness of the hug and as I felt his hands stroked my back, I swallowed emptily and bit on my bottom lip as I gently returned the hug.
"I enjoyed the time we spent out together and I really wish we can do something like that again." He breathed out before slowly pulling out of the hug.
"We should do that again some other time, hm?" He continued and I nodded my head tensely. "Yeah, that sounds nice."
I like Kai’s vibes and I also like hanging out with him, but I wished he’d understand that this isn’t the right time for a conversation like this. Right now, I’m currently drowning in panic and worry, and the time he spent hugging me, I could have used it to get to the forth floor.
