Everyone in the room revealed expressions of horror.
The buzz-cut man glared at the boyfriend with fury in his eyes, grabbing him by the collar, "What did you just say? You’ve been monitoring us at their request?"
The boyfriend appeared indifferent, "That’s right. You’ve all seen what those people are capable of; I’m just trying to stay alive. I didn’t do anything wrong."
His girlfriend walked over, stunned, her eyes red, "You... you’ve actually become an informant for those people. You only thought about saving your own skin. What about me? I was tricked into coming here because of you!"
The boyfriend’s gaze was icy as he spoke, "Don’t be so naive, okay? I can’t even save my own life, who’s going to care about you? If those people outside said your life could be traded for mine, I would have done it long ago. Unfortunately, they don’t even care about you."
The girl’s complexion turned extremely pale, and she was so shaken she couldn’t even cry out loud.
Chen Fan frowned as he looked at the boyfriend, thinking to himself that only in life-or-death situations can one truly see a person’s nature, and how true that saying was.
Footsteps were heard from outside.
All faces filled with panic, everyone hid in the corner, no longer paying attention to the boyfriend.
"Those people outside said that if we tried to escape, they would punish all of us. It’s all this guy’s fault for claiming he could save us without having the ability. Now thanks to this informant, we are all going to suffer because of you!" A man pointed at Chen Fan and shouted.
