Chapter 76: A disgrace?
Zara stayed silent, her expression unreadable. She just stared at Riya, watching her, studying her. She wanted to see just how far Riya could go.
Riya, mistaking her silence for defeat, carried on.
"You know, Nathaniel is the reason I’ve come this far," she said with a proud tilt of her head. "It’s he who has been supporting my career. I’m already a successful model. After this show, I’ll be a name people remember. He even promised to introduce me to top movie directors—said he’d help launch my acting career."
Her voice turned sweeter, smugger. "He is going to invest in my projects. He’ll do anything to make me happy. This proves just how much he loves me, how much I matter to him."
Then, like a knife wrapped in silk, she added, "But what about you? What has he done for you in five years? Nothing. Your career is dead. You have wasted years playing housewife."
She folded her arms, her stance growing sharper, more condescending.
"The world has moved on. You are stuck in the past. No one will give you a second chance, even if you want to start over. You are too far behind now."
She had said that because she had heard Zara’s designs were also going to be displayed in the show.
"But me? My future is glowing. I’ll be on every billboard, every screen. And you?"
