Dance Of The Dragons

Chapter 486 : The Final War (9)

Like a wounded predator, Zhang Fengxi lunged, his fury a feral roar. The First Demon King, a cruel smile twisting his lips, met the charge head-on.

The Three Realm Spear and the Silver Yin Sword clashed against each other in a series of hits, sending bright sparks raining down onto the battling combatants. Zhang Fengxi fought valiantly, but every attack sapped his strength, making it increasingly difficult to even hold the spear.

Defeating the First Demon King seemed impossible at this point. All Zhang Fengxi could do was stall the fight as long as possible, giving Wu Shenxia, Jiang Muchen, Bai Ling, and Huang Taichen a chance to reverse the tide of the battle.

"Pathetic," the First Demon King commented with glee. "It feels like fighting a tiger cub. I almost feel sorry for you, Supreme General."

"Shut up," Zhang Fengxi hissed through ragged breaths as he sent another fireball wheezing past the First Demon King’s head. "You talk too much."

The First Demon King broke into a cackle.

"Indeed, indeed. Oh well. I thought that killing you directly would be too heartless, but it seems to be the best course of action. I am sure that you are dying to meet the Crown Prince again."

The demon dodged the Three Realm Spear before he slammed an elbow into Zhang Fengxi’s chest, knocking the air out of his lungs. His wicked blade sang a deadly song as he aimed to send the Supreme General plummeting to the Underworld in a single strike. But their clash was abruptly cut short.

But then, the world split open. A jagged tear ripped across the sky, unleashing a torrent of rain that slammed down on the combatants. In that split second, a bolt of lightning, a celestial executioner’s writ, arced down, targeting the very point where Zhang Fengxi and the Demon King clashed.

Flung skyward by the unexpected hit, Zhang Fengxi braced for impact. But instead of slamming onto the cold earth, he was snagged mid-fall by a pair of arms. Glancing down, he saw a magnificent flying dragon beneath him, its obsidian scales gleaming like polished mirrors under the flickering spears of lightning that streaked the sky.

Gasping for air, Zhang Fengxi turned around to meet the gaze of his savior. His eyes locked onto a pair of stunning almond-shaped eyes, their beauty both captivating and more than familiar.
