Chapter 1405 - 224, Rejected (21)
There wasn’t anything of importance, so after exchanging a few casual words, everyone left on their own.
Shopkeeper Wu of Fragrant Full Building, however, intentionally stayed till the end to discuss with Lin Yuan the recent rivalry with Drunken Immortal Residence. It was said to be a rivalry, but now Drunken Immortal Residence was no longer as bustling as before, as their menu had not seen any innovation for quite some time.
Shopkeeper Wu furrowed his brows in confusion, "Speaking of which, that mysterious chef from Drunken Immortal Residence seems to have not visited Yecheng for a long time now. Although there are many who come to Yecheng specifically to taste his cooking, it appears they no longer find it as delicious as before."
Lin Yuan raised an eyebrow, puzzled, "How can you be so certain, Shopkeeper Wu?"
As far as she knew, that mysterious chef only came to Yecheng for a few fixed days each month, and not just anyone could taste his dishes. And even if Shopkeeper Wu did manage to eat there, he might not necessarily be able to discern the difference. He was savvy in business, but when it came to evaluating gourmet food, well, Lin Yuan was less complimentary.
As expected, Shopkeeper Wu chuckled sheepishly, "Boss, you are truly sharp, you saw through me with just one glance, heh heh, indeed, those words weren’t mine. Do you remember Jin Can, the Golden Tongue?"
Of course, she remembered Golden Tongue; she had personally prepared a dish of fishballs for him to taste!
"Was it Mr. Jin who told you?"
"It was him." Shopkeeper Wu nodded. Since that incident when An Jie was suddenly poisoned and Fuman Building’s business suffered, Jin Can had almost become one of Fragrant Full Building’s own after looking for people to support them.
"There was a rich person in Yecheng who booked the chef from Drunken Immortal Residence to cook for him last month and also invited Jin Can over. After dining that day, Jin Can came to me and said that someone else had taken over the chef’s duties and not a single dish had been made by the chef himself."
