At that point, I was truly determined to break up with Su Cheng, but he knelt before me, saying he was the youngest son, and after the marriage, we could move out to live on our own, begging me to endure a little longer."

"The last time you both came over, Su Cheng managed to sneak out to see me but was dragged back by his mother."
Wiping away her tears, Yang Xiaoli said, "I’ve thought it over, I don’t want to live like this anymore. I am clean and clear, a graduate from Capital University, I didn’t fancy the Su Family’s money nor their power, why should I subject myself to their mistreatment?" Her words were resolute, but her tone couldn’t hide the profound hurt she felt; obviously, she wasn’t as untroubled as she claimed to be.
Zhu Huixi pursed her lips, "Didn’t you say that other than his mother, the rest of his family didn’t have any complaints against you? Didn’t they help?"
"Help?" Yang Xiaoli laughed bitterly, "No matter how good I am, I’m still an outsider to them, why would they ever help me? Even Su Cheng only ever helps me in roundabout ways, never going head-to-head with his mother."
"I’m really tired," she said quietly, her gaze downcast.
Lin Xiaoguai and Zhu Huixi looked at each other, silent for a long while before Zhu Huixi asked, "What did your aunt say?"
